"...because it needs to be done at time of manufacture? At least if one wants a unique fingerprint ."

Signet would not need to be involved in the physical manufacturing process, it would be an issue mounted after manufacture if involved…something I’m not totally comfortable with....yet.

As for a unique fingerprint...each semiconductor manufactured cures with imperfections inherently indifferent, no two cure out exactly the same. What Signet does is build a security consideration on the indifferences.

If one tries to manufacture unique finger print considerations...as you seem to suggest.... then the production is not unique...the fingerprint would be pre logged entity…known by the manufacturer.

Semiconductors to stay random and unknown....Signet as an open issue should not be mounted at the time of manufacturing of semiconductors.....unless one wants to have a back door.

IMVHO, if Signet is directly mounted on semiconductors as an open issue…it’s worthless….to me anyway….the fingerprints can be logged prior to shipment …Whoever mounts Signet open would have the prints one way or another.

How the end user initiates should be part of the process to keep the fingerprints unique and unknown….

IMVHO e.Digitals methods have to, in some way, involve the end user.

If mounted at manufacture, manufacturers should not have the ability to unlock Signet prior to shipment…and an end user pays for some sort of key to initiate the process.
