Nobody wants it....

At the 2009 SHM Nov 19, they said a new version of eVU was under developement with lots of enhancements. They even gave us a sneak peak with some chum to go with it, without reveiling too much.

About 6 to 9 months later, the product upgrade venture was shelved and they mentioned it in a filing as such. I remember sending Fred an email saying it was a smart move to shelve it, vs throwing anymore R&D money into a dying market with the advent of personal tablets.

They decided personal devices (iPad, Samsung Galaxy tablets etc) would be the future choice to the point that they knew eVU was not much longer.

Airline orders for new devices slid downward Q after Q over the years until all that was left generating a declining income were repairs and content upgrades...new movies, games etc.

It appears to me, EDIG is not cancelling the contracts, the customers are not renewing them.

Why have 50 or so eVU's for rent on a flight if everyone has their own entertainment in their breifcase?

It's a great product, built like a brick and can take a beating, but it's past tense technology.

I've seen the dedicated repair "shop" at the prior and current office, Beth and a 1/2 time fella (I think 1/2) time handled the eVU stuff, but there's not enough going on past the date they set to bother with it any further.

It's been good to us, 30%+ gross margin, but the order have all but ceased.

Frankly, saw this coming 2+ years ago, surprised they hung on to this business segment long as they did.

Our future is IP licensing, by hook or crook.
