Message: NOR is - to be named, lol

“One striking feature of this transaction is the similarity of the NOR flash and SRAM markets. Both are comprised of a broad offering of diverse products, none of which sells in the kind of high unit volumes typical of DRAM or NAND flash.”

There’s a reason NAND is associated to sell in the volumes of DRAM’s…. the density factors of NAND memory are better than NOR. The industry, at large, are implementing similarity to e.Digitals patents....in utilizing NAND.

Even though NOR has the capacity of XIP or random access addressing….e.Digital treats the NOR, for the most part, in the same fashion it treats the NAND…..and that is with a variable cache in front of it, in combination with its operating system..

e.Digitals operating system conditions the NAND or the NOR to emulate a random access addressing, even though NAND does not have this capability.

It’s all a condition of the operating systems patented processes that details a logical overlay of the memory that allows this to happen….. no matter what the memory matrix is.

All that is necessary of the non-volatile memory is that, it have a fast enough programming speed (write).

RE:OBJECTS AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

"Accordingly, the challenge is to use an advanced operating system to control a non-volatile, long-term storage mediumsuch asflash memory in an improved handheld audio recording and playback device capable of providing CD quality sound capabilities."

445 is a patented operating system now ready for full throttle...for use with non-volatile memories.
