IMO--Handal has been accepting the small settlement monies because Edig needed to stay solvent with a little cushion until we got some real substantive good news to use in their arsenal. Well, the recent 108 news was just that. Handal can now demand larger settlement monies or if the defendants do not want to settle they are doing so knowing what information that will be brought up in court is very much in Edig's favor. This probably also assures that we will be in business long enough to prevail on Nunchi suits. The patents do soon expire, but we can go back 6 years from the first filing date of the suit. Think about this: the iPhone was first introduced in 2007 and the iPad a while after that. Those two devices alone could account for a large settlement from Apple and virtually all of their sales have occured in the time period going back six years from the initial 108 suit filings, late December 2013.
