The reason I state...

As I see, e.Digital needs to stop the proliferation of apps and not necessarily the already equipped and capable devices.

Is for this reason...

"The cameras must be connected to a WiFi network at all times for the system to work. Their feeds can be accessed via WiFi and fast mobile networks, using special apps available from the App Store and Google Play, depending on the device."

Already equipped and capable camera devices are, for all intent, dedicated surveillance devices like DropCam.

Where the quoted statement above would, IMO, more revolve around devices, smart phones, equipped with cameras as well as onboard sensors....where all you need are the apps to lace the camera and phone sensors together. You would not use your Iphone for a dedicated surveillance issue, but it would be very convenient to have the ability of DropCam for short periods of time...with, or without the power cord plugged into the phone if you are familiar with DropCam/WiFi and power issues.

e.Digital has considered smart phone with fast mobile network use of its IP. Lets hope there is fore thought to the challenge of add on apps, as well as dedicated devices.

Add on apps for devices capable of fast mobile networks, IMO, will be a challenge as it will be user induced infringement.
