Message: Pacer: e.Digital Corporation v. ArcSoft ~ Amendment Joint Hearing Statement

I saw a new display in Lowe's yesterday. I say it's new, because I went to my local Lowe's when reviewing security camera availability. At that time, Nest was only available on line. However, out of curiosity, I set out looking...it was not available in stores, not even @ BestBuy.

The only place selling it was Homer, and that's where I purchased it...and it was strange buying that type of product from that type of store ..two months ago now.

Looks like Homer was first, IMO, it will be everywhere before you know it.

A security site posted news today that setting a Nest Cam to "off" via its mobile app doesn't actually stop the unit from capturing audio and video. If you read the headline, you might be worried about whether Nest honors your privacy. But because no audio or video is processed, no motion events are monitored, and no multimedia is streamed in "off" mode, we aren't concerned. For our full thoughts on this issue, see the Flaws but not dealbreakers section below.

When you remotely stop the unit via a PC the power to the camera is disabled. As a power indicator light on the camera is turned off. With that, you can simply unplug the camera if there is concern, it does appear to turn off though.

The phone and tablet, as noted in instructions, do lack ability that are fully available through a PC.
