Glad we settled with Google and they signed a licensing agreement. Terms and money unknown, but should take a bit of the immediate pressure off the financial situation. Not as good news is that we did not prevail at an IPR which would have given us, as Doni puts it, the gold seal. If this pushes the other defendants to settle that is also good, but settlement monies are far less than gold seal monies. So we live to fight another day, but the big pay day is still elusive. I wonder if Google could have settled and not terminated the IPR? They have their deal locked in. If then Edig prevails in the IPR, Google got a great deal and could step in and buy Edig for pocket change, to them, and have the hammer of the gold seal to fight everyone else with. Doni, anyone, is this flawed thinking?
