Disch....Badgermeter is the leader of the parade...
This is a link to their initatives....LINK
It's not about leak detection around my area....or water conservation.
Case in point:
Once upon a time I was scheduled to go away on a trip when, I noticed just as I was leaving, a large lake of water around my water meter that apparently developed in the middle of early morning ....I opened the meter box to notice it was leaking badly on the service side of the meter from the street. In other words, the meter was not reading this leak as it was not passing through the consumption meter.
I called for an emergency repair and that was that. I wasn't worried about it, as it was not my water being lost...it was the counties.
I was gone for three weeks and when I returned it was still leaking....lol....they did not care about it.
Neighbors called to no avail, as the county water dept was understaffed to make their own repair. My front lawn still has the reminiscent scars that the workers made with trash pumps ten years ago within the right of way portion in front of my home....that they never repaired.
IMO, when it comes to digital automation issues, it's more about labor management than water conservation.....
With the labor management reduction the bill for water stays the same.
We lose and the meter readers lose.
