City of Woodburn in Oregon already uses something that monitors the water flow every couple of hours. They were able to pinpoint the month, day and hour/minute when the leak started and how much water I was losing daily.
They took the flow/volume at 0230 each morning, since no one was up at that time taking showers or anything and calculated how much water I was losing each day/month. Actually credited some $$$ back when I fixed it immediately and they could see it on their system.
What Nunchi could do is notify a homeowner that there may be a problem to investigate. Though that could cut into utility companies profits.
