We do not agree on many things lately, however we are on the same page when it comes to the Twitter stuff--it is possible that it is legit, but it seems very goofy to me.  I think that you rightly say that we should only believe things that have been confirmed by the company, until then they are just rumors and inuendo.  That said, there were a number of other things on the header that are in fact true.  Maybe the header just needs some refreshing.  Just a suggestion.
