That's why Fred has lawyers, to tell him how far he can go without being prosecuted.  You'll never see a dime from the Errors and Ommissions or Breach of Fiduciary Duty policies/coverage.  

It may have been dubious, and may have turned some away, such as Mary Fales, but in the end Fred's actions were not indefensible.  The whole thing was carefully crafted exit strategy.  

The thing was that, no matter how good we thought the tech was, we couldn't sell it, we couldn't prevent it from being stolen, and we couldn't convince the US Patent office that it was unique enough to protect.
