Not all the big shots have settled, not by a long shot. How about IBM, Matsushita, Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, TI, ARMHY, LG, Motorola... to name just a few. The list is rather long but Patriot`s licensing venture is just getting started... sure first responders got off lightly, but those who choose to fight will end up paying more. Last weeks ruling shifting the court case back to Texas was very important and I think a catalyst for many to eventually settle. If they choose a court battle and loose... they will loose collectively BILLIONS, should the patents prove valid and enforcable. I`m sorry, I don`t get your point at all. RISC is another way to go but it ain`t happening on a massive scale just yet, plenty of time for Patriot to collect what is due them. Stealing IP isn`t cool... and PTSC isn`t a ``patent troll`` by any definition (not to say you view them as such). I agree that they should now develop their own IP/chips and market them... and perhaps they will. It`s early in the game and the money is just beginning to roll in. I hope EDIG can also pursue this course... if people have been stealing from them then by all means they should find an attorney willing to represent them. It`s the American way... without innovation and patents our country would still be third world.
