The objective from day one with EDIG/DM, was to achieve a one time settlement and cross licensing agreement, if the cross licensing part was a benefit to both parties.

This was discussed in some detail at the SHM 9/17/08.

Future roylaties was never part of EDIG's goal, and the one time settlement fee is for sales of the infringer's CE products from the past, and up to the settlement time.

EDIG is getting what they want.

So, this is the strategy.
