You're welcome. Unfortunately the sound leaves a lot to be desired.
Regarding the Freshmen..... when I was stationed at Scott AFB in 1954-55, I joined a singing group who was looking for a bass player with singing experience. That fit me perfectly. We were a quartet who did, among other things, tunes like the Freshmen. Our CO was a great arranger and "pirated" some of the Freshmen's arrangements. "The Day Isn't Long Enough" was the first one we did.
We had two instruments...an accordion and the bass. It was a lot of work but the CO gave us plenty of time to rehearse and he kept us away from KP and other work details. It's good to know the King. :>)
We did some paying gigs with the singing group but most of the extra money I made came from bass gigs with various groups in the St. Louis area. I lived off base in Belleville Ill., about 15 or 20 miles from St. Louie. It was a great time in my life....very formative. My son was also born on the base in 1954....another reason to remember the time, fondly.
I kid a lot about my musical tastes but it's really a simple thing for me. I could care less about the genre. If it sounds good to me and offers good musical craftsmanship, that's all I care about. There's good and bad in all genres....even rock....I guess. :>) It's just that I'm unlikely to wade through all the junk to find one pearl. That's unfortunate because it's likely there are some really excellent players who have stilted their development because of their choice of music.
Of course you gotta make a living. :>)
