I need a simple questioned answered. Been married 40+ years and separated for 8 and now want to finalize with a divorce. Here is the question. I'm confident the court will award 1/2 his pension to me but will that be for the rest of my life. He has led me to believe that after we are divorced and he dies my pension would stop. I really don't have the funds to waste at this time so I want to be pretty sure before I head to an attorney. If only eDig would do it's thing I wouldn't be so worried. We both live in the state of Florida if that makes a difference. Also all assets were split with the separation agreement with the exception of the pension.
