I doubt if I could name the "greatest". There are so many great ones to chose from.

Did you ever see a movie called "Sweet and Lowdown? It's a Woody Allen movie starring Sean Penn. He played a fictional character named Emmit Ray. However, the true stars are the guitarists who did much of the sound track.

Howard Alden played all the solo stuff for Penn's character. He even coached Penn in the fingering to make it appear that Penn was actually playing. I had the pleasure of working with Howard a couple of decades ago.

Speaking of great players, Howard emulated Django Reinhardt's style in the score. Penn's character (who fainted every time he met Django) was a bit zany but the movie is well worth watching if just for the music.

Of course, none of these guys were in Segovia's league. :>)
