This stuff is scary, Richard. I don't think the overall public is quite there yet in assessing this guy's true nature. It's getting better but he still holds the edge in overall popularity. He'll always have the Kool Aid group in his pocket. They wouldn't change their minds about him if he became a serial killer. We gotta work hard on the fence sitters and limit him to a single term.

Don't forget about the makeup of the Congress. That's just as important if not more so. I hope the Rs can make inroads in 2010. I'm not a registered R but they espouse a much more fiscally conservative philosophy....at least that's what they say. :>) They had their chance to keep the Congress under Bush and they screwed it up. They couldn't even stop a super majority by the Ds. Now that's what I call ugly. There's no question in my mind, the Ds do a much better job of campaigning.

I'm not sure Michael Steele is competent enough to lead the RNC out of this trap.
