When Thompson was on the show, he blunted the leftist garbage to some extent. The character he played was decidedly conservative. I have to believe he left the show because he could no longer influence the writing for his character.

All their "Law and Order" shows are becoming more and more left wing.....a good reason to watch 'Lassie", instead.
