Thanks John - can you imagine being in his position & thinking you were staring death in the face - what a HERO! I was in a strange position once while surveying on Highway 401 near Pearson International Airport in Toronto - with a 9 ft. survey pole (while at university) - I had my back to the traffic heading into Toronto , standing between 2 lanes of traffic while the chap across the highway took the survey shot. I turned sideways to see if I could get off the highway when suddenly I saw a green transport truck coming right at me - he was crossing the line & I decided to run for the median - he kept coming into the passing lane & missed me by about 1/10 sec.
I even ran with the stupid 9 ft pole. In a flash I saw my life go before me & I pictured being thrown some 40 feet in the air - a miracle he missed me. Funny thing was than 2 hrs earlier a car flipped on it's roof & a woman in the passenger seat died instantly - police were still at the scene some 500 yds away. Needless to say not a good day! I can't imagine looking at a bomb ready to explode. This guy had the guts to shove it in the enemies faces - unbelievable!
