I just put 1 of these in my Aquarium at the office - mine is only some 2 1/2 ! long.

This species is Alligator Gar, what can be found in Texas and Louisiana.
The hard scales protect alligator gar (some people use these scales as jewelry).
Gars can breathe both air and water.
The biggest gars are around 300lbs and 7,0-7,5ft.
Only few anglers fish for them for sport.
