Message: Re: Dubstep Violin- Lindsey Stirling- Crystallize...sman

I actually punished myself and listened to that piece of "music", which was totally sterile and devoid of any musical virtue.

I checked her bio and came up with this:

"For the last 17 years Stirling has added color to every aspect of her life through her music. Although her training was classical, she joined a rock band in high school, played on the streets of New York City as a missionary, learned to dance while playing, and now, as a student at Brigham Young University, Stirling plays for free in small local venues. Lindsey wishes to be a positive role model for teenage girls. Through her unique style of playing, she wants to prove that you don't have to conform to be accepted. The greatest value comes from loving yourself for who you are."

That's just plain garbage. It's a way of her saying I couldn't cut it in the real world so I'll fake it for the lemmings. She plays rock and hip-hop and appears to compose at levels of those who gave us cave paintings. If you're a good musician, you don't have to engage in those stupid gyrations. Just play. Let your talent speak for itself....assuming you have some. Rock and Hip-Hop....the refuge of the auditory challenged lemmings who will follow you off the nearest cliff.
