Believe it or not, the word Klondike Solitaire may be traced back to the gold rush in the late 1890s as the origin of the game.

You must place all of your cards in the four foundation piles of klondike solitaire game in order to win. These are the four unoccupied places at the very top of the game's screen. Each pile symbolizes a distinct suit, and the piles should be filled in the proper order, starting with the Ace and working your way up to the Queen and King. If you were to place the Ace of Spades first, then the two of spades, then the three of spades, and so on until the King of Spades is set, you would do so in this manner. The game is over once you've completed this with each of the four foundation piles.
