Yorbeau Continues Drill Testing of Augmitto-Astoria Corridor

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, Mar 24, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Yorbeau Resources Inc. ("Yorbeau"') /quotes/comstock/11t!yrb.a (CA:YRB.A 0.26, 0.00, 0.00%) continues its 2010 drilling program with two drill rigs focused on two gold bearing structures in the Augmitto-Astoria corridor. The first target structure is the Piche Group that has locally yielded high grades of gold over widths reaching several metres. The second target structure is the "footwall zone" that occurs at or near the basal contact of the Piche Group with underlying sediments and which is an important host to gold mineralization at the past producing Astoria mine.

Drilling to date has demonstrated that zones in the Piche Group and the footwall zone are mineralized to true widths of up to seven metres carrying potentially-mineable grades of gold. Gold mineralization along these two target zones is more-or-less continuous over the five kilometre long corridor and the widely-spaced drilling program currently underway is directed at locating areas where closely-spaced drilling can be done to develop significant volumes of potential ore. So far, the Cinderella and Lake Gamble areas have yielded very encouraging results within both target structures.

Cinderella

A wedge cut was drilled from drill hole 09-CI-519 (see press release of September 23, 2009) that cut 74.67 g/t Au over 10.35 metres in the footwall zone plus 10.1 g/t Au over five metres in the Piche Group. This wedge cut was designed to test the lateral continuity of the gold mineralization, and achieved a separation of about 16 metres from the footwall zone in hole 519. As usual, abundant quartz veining and disseminated arsenopyrite with traces of visible gold occur in rocks of the Piche Group and in the footwall zone. Assay results are shown below.

The two remaining planned wedge cuts from hole 519 were deferred due to the limited separation achieved in 519A. These wedge cuts may be attempted at another time.

Hole 520, drilled in 2009, was re-entered in an attempt to pass the fault zone in which the hole was stopped last year, with the objective of crossing the fault and reaching the footwall zone. After considerable attempts, a wedge cut from hole 520 was drilled and was able to cross the fault zone and cut the footwall zone, which is narrow in this area. Assay results are pending.

On Section 5700E, one hole (10-CI-530) was stopped at 401 metres in Piche Group rocks due to strong deviation and a second (10-CI-531) is in progress. Hole 530 had cut 38 metres of moderately silicified carbonate schist with fuchsite and quartz-tourmaline veinlets when it was stopped. Hole 531 cut a 75 metre interval of Piche Group that is weakly to moderately silicified carbonate schist with fuchsite and quartz-tourmaline veinlets before the hole became stuck in a fault. The hole has been successfully reduced from NQ size to BQ size in an attempt to continue the hole and reach the footwall zone. Assay results are pending for these holes.

Lake Gamble

Drilling continues with one rig at the Lake Gamble area to explore the 600-metre-wide gap between the Lake Gamble discovery and the Astoria mine. The first drill section, on Section 8400E, is being drilled from a site that is only accessible when the ground is frozen. Four holes have been completed on this section (holes 10-GA-508, 509, 521 and 522), and a fifth is in progress (10-GA-523). These holes have targeted both the Piche and footwall zones with the objective of testing continuity of gold mineralization between the Lake Gamble area and the Astoria mine.

The footwall zone in this section is strongly silicified, brecciated and veined with abundant brown tourmaline and arsenopyrite, as seen in holes 10-GA-509, 521 and 522, while the Piche Group is thin and weakly altered. Assay results are pending for holes 521, 522 and 523, while results have been received for two of the holes, as shown below.

The next section to be drilled in this area will be about 200 metres east of the current section, along Section 8600E, with an initial vertical spacing of 200 metres planned.

Samples are analyzed by ALS-Chemex in Val-d'Or, Quebec. All samples are first analysed by fire assay with an assay charge of 50 grams. Samples returning more than 3 g/t are redone by fire assay followed by gravimetric method. Samples returning more than 6 g/t and those with visible gold have their rejects analysed by metallic sieve method. Yorbeau has implemented a QA/QC program that consists of insertion of blanks and gold standards in batch samples being sent to the assaying laboratory. Selected pulp samples will also be re-analysed by a different laboratory.
