One of the kind posters over on the Yahoo board posted this message from the JORC chairman. Draw your own conclusions, but whatever the case it looks like we're in for weeks more waiting.
I e-mailed Peter @ JORC to find out anticipated release date. Here's his reply:

No we have had a bit of slippage in the process. I expect to issue an timing update in the next few weeks, are you on JORC’s update list from the website?
