"I am worried about what will happen if this trip ends without a deal or possibility of a deal."
When and how will you ever know that the trip has ended "without a deal or possibility of a deal"? Would that be within days of JB's return, a month later, or 6 months out? How about two years?
Certainly none of those who attend the presentations in the Middle East will definitely communicate a lack of interest.
As to how quickly an offer or offers may be recieved, turn the tables of a moment. If you were shopping for an income property investment, say an apartment building, would you be quick to make an offer at the first opportinity, or would you study things, comparison shop and then enter into negotiations, which may or may not culminate in a signed deal?
My point is, you will never know what pairs of ears have become disinterested, and you will only learn about an offer when one has been extended, assuming the information can be made public before the deal is done. Then, concluding a deal could take some extended period of time beyond that required to bring in that first serious expression of interest.
Not trying to be a downer here, just not wanting folks to look for too much too soon, though I could be wrong (and I hope I am).
Having said all of that, and sans a deal being announced within days of the trip, I wonder if a bidding war could break out for LBSR shares during or after the presentations? What are the requirements in the U.S., aquisition of 5 percent of shares must be disclosed, along with a statement regarding future intentions before more shares can be acquired?
If so, I guess we could see some interesting action in the stock price well before we hear of offers.
...back to waiting.
