The first link is for a company with a proposal to extract Lithium from salts near Tombstone and Benson, along US Hwy 10, but by way of using a new proprietary process - my words, not theirs. Any time an exploration company uses words that imply "proprietary process", take that as a very red flag.
The second link suggests that Tesla Motors decided, in part, to locate their Lithium-based battery plant in the Reno area to be close to the only operating Lithium salts plant in the United States. The story also suggests that there is plenty of Lithium in that area for now, so be sure to look futher into demand before you buy shares in a Lithium explorer.
