Average? What is Average? At this point, we don't even know if we are talking about suface mining, or underground, or a combination of both (over time, or at the same time), or even if a mine is possible.

Also, one may attempt to argue that the nearby Rosemont project (80 percent owned by HudBay) has "average" grades for a mine of this type. However, ore is outcropping, and vast, unlike the nearby and modern day Pima-Mission mine complex, which is vast, low grade, and very deep for an open pit.

"The Rosemont project is located near a number of large porphyry type producing copper mines and is expected to be one of the largest copper mines in the United States, accounting for approximately 10% of total U.S. copper production."

IMO, if drilling shows the outcropping skarn to be economic, and going to depth, we may be onto something historically important (judging by the porphyry's "footprint" outlined by geophysics, and assuming the "footprint" is exploitable to depth).

All I can add is that the "average" open pit copper mine in Arizona returns around 4/10ths percent copper per ton, and many have been closing of late, ...but I don't expect Hay Mountain to begin as a stand alone open pit either, if it begins at all.

Does this help, or did I just add to everyone's confusion?

VP
