Combining Classic Mineral Exploration with State of the Art Technology
Yes, in general I have to agree with your observations. I will add that many observers of this company did not, or will not learn much new by listening to it. I think the idea was to add exposure to what I will call new ears, and to speak of the issues LBSR faces as a mining company using public land.
However, I think JB did as much as could be expected under the circumstances. I feel he was caught off guard by a last minute substitute for the interviewer, and that that person was ill prepared, or almost completely unprepared for doing the interview, along with having absolutely no understanding of the mining business or geology (and he spent too much time telling listeners about himself, perhaps as a way of indirectly explaining why he was unprepared).
There was also, I think, surprisingly little airtime, at lot of which was interrupted with radio ID stuff, and verbiage connected with several commercial breaks, so I don't think JB ever had an opportunity to tell the LBSR story as he would have preferred.
In short, I had a very clear impression that JB had nothing, or almost nothing to do with scripting the interview in the way it unfolded.
So, people already familiar with the company will probably be disappointed with what they hear/heard. Others, especially those without a background in earth science, are not likely to be so critical IMO.
Having said these things, I did not see the video portion of the interview, and can only speak of what I got out of the audio recording.
For those most curious to know about when we will hear more from Zenke, I think JB suggested in days, but who can really know when dealing with government.
In conclusion, those who hold JB in a poor light (or pretend to) will not be swayed by this, and those like me who hold him in high regard will continue to do so. Nothing changes until we hear from Zenke. Even then the effects will take time to play out, so I would not expect much of an immediate effect on the share price anyway, except maybe a shortlived bounce if the news is good - nothing if bad as nothing changes.
CHECK THAT. "Nothing changes", but the company will be able to write off expences, which could help if it ever has income from other sources.
