How is this increased volume of late different from the last "dump"?

1.  No one brokerage firm can be identified as "the" seller's representative;

2.  So far, there have been no sales in after hours, let alone any based on intra-day trading;

3.  So far, daily volumes have been seemingly cautious/studied? by comparison.

...could still be the same party, just one not doing so in the naively open and identifiable manner as they did the last time. 

One thing is certain, however.  And to paraphase the great Harry Browne, as soon as you think you understand a speculative issue suffiently well enought to put money on it, that's when it changes.
