When most folks see a commercial they will forget about the Ad but remember some particular funny or stupid aspect about the Ad for weeks and even months after the Ad.  They will remember that Jhons pluming was the one that advertise "if your toilet dosent go down call us UP"!  LOL!  Little bit of humor goes a very long ways.
