I hate to say it, because its so maddeningly frustrating, but for now I agree with LBSRs strategy. If I were running the show I would seek out a partner until there was no more hope, in the mean time I would hold some cash back. If it got to the point that it looked like the company was about to go belly up and there was no hope of a partner, i would take the money I had set aside and drill a coupe of holes in a hail Mary pass. As it has been said before, if they did drill a couple of holes now, and the results came back less than favorable, would they ever be able to draw in a partner?
