Your points would make sense in a different context.  The thing that makes it different here is that the refusal to consider the offers was, at least in the way it was worded by JB, flat refusals to even consider.  I took that as not even looking into them at all.  If they are looked into and found to legitimately not be as good as other offers, that is different of course.  Besides, refusal to consider when we don't know if the other "offers" will pan out at all would be quite premature and irresponsible.  Even if these offers need a little tweaking, counter-offers could be made if need be.  That is the nature of negotiations.
