Well- another day, another dollar . . . .lost.
It's Wednesday- so I assume we're done for the week. Not that BG has exhibited any promotional good sense- but typically, we should be unlikely to see a big, positive, important announcement on Thurs.-Fri. Only charming announcements like RS's.
That means we look to next week. But as time passes- opportunity passes. The RS should have been kind of a marker. I think even NU was taken aback that the RS took place without positive news. So- do we assume BG had the good sense to plan an announcement of a deal for drilling to coincide with the RS news. One would hope so. It would be rather pathetic otherwise.
Does that then suggest that after the RS was set in motion something went awry? Maybe so. But I would hope an expected deal didn't fall through altogether. I think the best we can hope for is that there was a last minute glitch and it was delayed. If so- the longer we go without a an announcement after the RS, the less likely it seems an impending deal was in the works or can be salvaged.
But maybe not. Maybe these assumptions are all wrong. We just won't know. It's just too bad we have a management that has gone to such great lengths not to have to be accountable to the company's shareholders- quite a unique situation.
