Actually the word "shyster" is of German origin. It was transliterated directly from the German "Scheiss" into English with English spelling. 

"Sheiss" is German for "sh-t".  Since "Scheiss" (actually "der Scheiss") is a noun, it is always capitalized in German. Germans would understand that the English word "shyster" can only mean "one who is full of or spreads sh-t."  Believe me. It has nothing to do with being shy.
