In my opinion, the next trend in the mining sector will be in mergers and acquisitions among producers. Explorers without proven assets will be dead in the water, awaiting the next tide to sweep them in one direction or the other.
What does it mean to be dead in the water? That would be living on strings of tiny financings while doing, by whatever means, to prop up the share price ahead of the next round of funding.
By the way, energy prices are now rising far more rapidly than other components of mining costs. This hurts explorers and other juniors, making investing in them far riskier.
Oh, but here is some late good news. The Fed may forgo its planned quarter-point rate increase this month.
Pray for Ukraine!
