Perhaps the removal of such possible 'interference' incentivized one or both parties? It would seem to me to be a win /win vs. status quo, and in fact would have leveraged (or deleveraged) both parties. Bird(s) / Hand / Bush?
I wonder how agonizingly long the new 'Technical Studies' can be made to take / analyze / massage / announce?
It will be interesting to see if JB makes any non-derogatory (obviously) public comments about the 'quality' of the RRC prospect / exploration efforts. I would take silence as criticism (seems obvious to me). Also wonder if professional and mutual interest relations are restored to the point where JB's undeniable knowledge / skills / abilities would be sought or offered.
