"Did the news release ever show up on the Yahoo board?"

Yes, the same day as the news on one part of the Web site, but not on another.  My Yahoo! news feed never sent it to me, but it was available elsewhere on their Web site. 

"Right at this moment, both the bid and the ask are .59."

That's not quite right.  Bid is .589, ask is .5895.
