His Majesty to grace Council of Oman’s annual meeting today

MUSCAT, Nov.14, 2006— His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said will preside over the annual convening of the Council of Oman today at Oman Council’s hall in Al Khuwair.

His Majesty the Sultan will deliver a comprehensive speech in which he will review present and future work and development march in the Sultanate in realisation of the objectives drawn by His Majesty for the Omani modern Renaissance along balanced tracks as also firm steps and growing achievements that secure the well-being of the society and cement the foundations of security and stability.

The annual convening of the Council of Oman, which comprises the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, will be attended by members of the royal family, the chairmen of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, ministers, advisers, commanders of corps of the Sultan's Armed Forces, the Royal Oman Police, members of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, heads of diplomatic corps accredited to the Sultanate, the country’s sheikhs and dignitaries, editors-in-chief of local newspapers and editors-in-chief and representatives of a number of Arab and foreign media.
