Multi-Billion Dollar Agreement Signed With Oman
Nov 26-28 for both govt, pvt sectors - MUSCAT — Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, yesterday issued a decision granting a three-day holiday from November 26 to 28 for the public sector on the occasion of the New Hijri Year 1433 AH and the Sultanate’s 41st National Day.
The decision reads as follows: "On the anniversary of Prophet Mohammed’s Hijra and the start of the new Hijra year 1433 AH and on the anniversary of the Sultanate's celebration of the 41st National Day — and as per the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, it has been decided that holidays for these two occasions for employees of the ministries, public authorities and other government departments will be from Saturday, November 26 to Monday, November 28 (inclusive).
Work will resume on Tuesday, November 29.
Sayyid Khalid extended his heartfelt greetings to His Majesty the Sultan, praying to the Almighty to grant him good health, happiness and a long life and the Omani people the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan. He wished the Islamic world bounties and blessings.
Meanwhile, Manpower Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri issued a ministerial decision stating that holidays for the new Hijra year 1433 AH and the 41st National Day in private sector companies and establishments will be from Saturday, November 26, to the end of Monday, November 28. Work will resume on Tuesday November 29, according to the decisiion.
The decision allows employers and employees to agree on work arrangements, if necessity arises (to continue working and compensate the holidays later).
The decision also states that the employees whose weekly off days coincide with the holiday must be compensated.
Private sector employees extend their greetings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos on the occasions, praying the Almighty to protect His Majesty and grant him good health, happiness and a long life.
