Market Makers earn a living on the spread. As volume becomes smaller, the spread gets larger and larger so that is is worthwhile for the MM to facilitate the trade. This is the reason for such larger percentage price fluctuations in OMAG, as well as a host of other stocks with very small volume.

The day-to-day sp fluctuations may, or may not, mean something is happening. A sp fluctuation with higher than normal volume is more likely to be significant.

The overall trend is a much better indicator of something cooking.
