The Forum aims at highlighting the elements and components of the vision for the tourism industry in the Sultanate, underlying the current performance indicators for the tourism sector, viewing the most recent academic research on the tourism development in the Sultanate and shedding light on the strategic and development projects that are being executed and the pivotal role of the tourism sector.

The Forum also aims to highlight the important role of small and medium-sized enterprises in promoting tourism, economic and societal development in various governorates of the Sultanate and to raise tourism awareness efforts through effective means to clarify the economic importance of the tourism industry in the Sultanate’s development strategy, as well as the desire of Gutech students to promote the University as a leading centre of excellence in research and development studies. The Forum will discuss a number of topics relating to the strategy of the Ministry of Tourism and its vision for the future of the tourism industry in the Sultanate, as well as other major themes on the volume of projects in the tourism sector and the academic studies and research on the various elements of the sector.

The organisation of the Forum comes in implementation of a graduation project of students of the Department of Tourism at Gutech which has been approved by the university in support of these students in order to achieve a number of goals. — ONA
