OLDSTER, man you are old if you were around then. One small correction. You've got the Ft. McHenry deal spot on, but the lady in the rocks, I believe wrote America the Beautiful. "God Bless America" was written by none other than Irving Berlin, but he "shelved it". Years later when our country was fearing "the storm clouds far across the sea" called WWII, the great Kate, summoned Mr. Berlin to compose something to bolster our moral. He dusted off "God Bless America" and let Kate run with it. For all of you, if you've got any patiotic blood in you, please treat yourself and Google Kate Smith Introduces "God Bless America".
