There is a lot that 'people' misunderstand about the Middle East. It isn't one place, it is a whole range of countries with different histories, demographics, positives, negatives and challenges. Saying that 'violence' is in Onam's back yard is like saying I won't go to Chicago because of a problem of some sort in New York. Many countries in the Middle East are focussing on the future and getting on with their developments. Oman is one of the most positive of these. They take their time, which is not unusual. Just don't try to guess why!
