seek out a real biotech expert who can give you an idea what the actual odds are. I've heard that 1 out of 1,000 products actually hit the market after going through the stage we're in now - animal testing. It still sounds like a huge long shot to me. I used to know someone who graduated from Harvard MS and worked for a VC firm specializing in Biotech companies. He told me that finding a successful new product was like finding a needle in a haystack. He seemed to know a lot about any biotech company I would mention. I sure wish I could pick his brain on this one.
