hello and welcome aboard, i think we are all on for a great ride!
here is your question:

I am a new investor in PRB and unfortunately new to mining plays.
I have heard a lot about PRB's potential given its proximity to NOT's large find however not many comments about the 7 recent finds to the NE by SPY where PRB has much more land.
Can soneone comment on this potential.
Here is a link to the Map showing the 7 finds by the SPY joint venture.
Many thanks to the experts for any insight you can offer.
___________
i will try to give you some guidance. there are (fortunately) many anamoly's in the area. this is great news as it lets a mill, roads, and other infrastructure be built in the area which can service all minable finds. i can not emphasize how important and valuable to all landholders in the area this is.
till we see the drill results we will not know what type of metals may be causing the signature. their are clues for trained geoligists and many educated guesses but till it is drilled that is all it is, educated guesses.
what we hope to find in concentrations like the recent noront find are pgms ie platinum group metals. a hit like noront with over 100 meters in excess of 2.8 grams avg per ton, and more importantly their monster hit of over 1 ounce per ton over a much smaller distance was awesome beyond description.
next comes nickel, then copper, then zinc. the reason is nothing more then the value of each metal, all other things being equal when found in quantity.
another nice advantage of these finds is that they are close to surface so you do not have to waste a lot of time and money moving rock to get to the minable metal. nothing wrong with finding metal at depth, and i suspect we will find substantial amounts on some land sites only at depth. they will of course cost more to retrieve.
a few keys for you to focus on is what the companys total market cap is, this is a comparison metric. likewise $ per ton of ore (does not as much matter what the metals are ie $1,000 per ton over distance like the recent noront hit is unheard of, and distance of find.
regarding probes other land positions, they have many excellent prospects in diverse areas around this new mining camp from what i can see. but till it is drilled.....
do your homework, (ie reading the companies web sites and sites such as this one), google mining terms for definitions if you are not aware of them already.)
be right and sit tight.
