Borden Lake ---- Potential

An extremely wet weekend on the Atlantic Coast so time to outline some details on the Borden property that have my attention.
Dave introduces the Borden Lake as a new gold discovery in an underexplored part of the Kapuskasing Structural Zone. This zone hosts rock from the Timiskaming Group, primarily metaconglomerates [greenstone rock] in a broad west-trending band. This area was Recommended for Mineral Exploration by the Minister of Mines in 2008-2009 following mapping by Moser who mapped greenstone type rock underlying the northern part of Borden Lake. Others may have identified greenstone rock in this area prior to Moser but I have no reference to it.
The Abitibi Greenstone Belt of the Timiskaming Group extends from Timmins to Val-d'or and hosts deformed and metamorphosed volcanic and metasedimentary rocks. Within the belt there are many gold mines including several major mines such as Doam. Hollinger, McIntyre, Pamour, and Hoyle Pond.
Metaconglomerates with gold has now been found in the Borden area. The April 26, 2010 NR identifies Timiskaming -age sediments and Dave references gold deposits at Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Hemlo and Red Lake. The Borden Lake surface showing is 150 m by 45 m and grab samples analysis show up to 3.4 g/t. A VTEM geophysical survey completed this summer identified a 700 m long anomaly at the end of the surface gold showing.
The recent NR provided evidence of a possible extensive gold find. To say the least widths of mineralization, over 100 m, are very impressive and neither the footwall or hanging wall have been identified The possible strike of this mineralized zone could now be 1.2 km and the NR notes that grades look to be increasing with depth, NR. Drilling in the first phase has only reached a depth of 130 m so this is still open.
From my chair it certainly looks like an aggressive drill program will show the potential that exists at Borden. The property is both close to a regional highway and well established mining camps. The geological record of the Timiskaming Group also give me lots of confort that this will be special.
Lots of reasons to hold on this one,
