Hey Brutus,
This is an interesting property for a proximity play. According to previous posters, this 1589 hectares, say rouding to 1600 ha (or 4km x 4 km?), covers the "wedge" immediately east of PRB Borden property. Do you (or anyone) have a map showing the exact location and shape of this property with respect to PRB and the east portion of Borden Lake?
Also, just wondering about the following items. Please feel free to chip in with your answers (with reference for facts, if possible).
- With available cash of about $100k as of Nov 2012 (NIK MD&A document, Sept 2012) can NIK carry out the VTEM survey over the equivalent of a 4 km x 4 km? (what would be the approx cost of a VTM survey per sq km?), and do other on going activities (admin, exploration, etc. Note: $100k is not that much in this business (NIK could only afford to pay $3k initially for the properties, the rest of cash payment of $97k is for the next 3 yrs). Bet that NIK will need some financing very soon.
- PRB drilling in the SE (e.g. hole BL12-256, the star hole) was on the boundary with the property NIK just optioned? or did Palmer allowed some buffer (required by law?) distance from the neighbour. Common sense says: who would want to drill right at the edge of the property for the benefit of the guy on the other side of the fence?
- The SE portion of the Main gold zone is heading towards the eastern portion of Borden Lake. Would PRB be allowed to drill right up to the edge of the Lake, or it has to leave a buffer of say 200m from the water? Can one drill (at an angle) underneath the lake? The answer is presumably YES, but they would keep that to themselves. Ditto from drilling to the other side but at an angle. Nobody would know...unless somebody would unintentionally do some "free speech" after too many drinks at the local watering hole. The impression is that drillers would love talking after a long day.
- Can a dam be built and that part of the lake dewatered for drilling, and possibly be used later as part of the (open pit) mine?
- NIK is cheap (Cap is about $1M), PRB could gobble this up in one gulp. The question is when?
Speculations would be welcome.
