The term "lode" is used to describe a vein or tabular deposit between definate boundaries. Veins can be quite narrow but when the term is used along with flooding there can be multiple veins seperated by the host rock. Some definations take the meaning a step further and say the lode [vein] must consist of quartz or other rock in place and bear valuable minerals, ie. not used to describe placer deposits.
From the defination the mineralized section in 256 can be much different then the low grade found in the BLH which is distributed across gneisses and metaconglomerate, that is, if Macquaries assessment re 'lode gold' is correct. I would not expect the lode gold to be found in one or more lithological unit, but rather in a vertical swarm of quartz veins, [speculation on my part]. An early assessment on my part but as always things can change as more definate info becomes available.
