wtless,
2.04 M shares in one day (today) over a period of 1 month of no activity is something peculiar. The OS is about 22M, so this accounts for just a bit less than 9.2%. My guess (only a guess) is that somebody is trying to take a sizable chunk of REC, but wants to stay below the 10% radar.
Apparently, REC is running out of cash (can put a finger on some previous posts...perhaps someone can verify this) and practically dead in the water.
It would not a surprise to see Dave come knocking on the REC door with an offer, say current share price with some 40% premium (i.e. about 0.035/s). A cash offer would cost PRB about $0.75 million, which is not too much of a cash spending for PRB. But, the REC folks may want PRB shares instead (for riding on the coat tail of PRB), say 50 REC for 1 PRB (22M/50 = 0.4 M PRB shares = not much of a dilution). How's my math so far?
By the way, REC northern boundary in the SE area is just about 1km south of "The Narrows", and 2km south of hole 256. This is a good piece of real estate just for waste rock, lower grade ore for future processing, and space for bulldozers to run around in the SE area.
