Diamond Hole assay data

Can someone help decipher factors of diamond hole drill results.
For example here is one typical set of numbers reported on 6/18:
DDH |
Section |
From (m) |
To (m) |
Width (m) |
Au (g/t) |
BL13-394 |
1800m SE |
378 |
388.7 |
10.7 |
4.7 |
Presumably the results are based upon a vertical perspective.
Apparently BL13-394 was drilled to some depth below the 388.7m
level and encountered Au from 378m to 388.7m resulting in 10.7m
width (isn't this actually depth or thickness). However, there is no
reporting of the horizontal measurement. Surely the horizontal
measurement has to be greater than the width of the bore.
My conclusion is that the reported assay doesn't provide much
measureable Au in the 10.7m thickness. Isn't it possible that the
horizontal could run anywhere from a few cm to many meters?
It seems to me that the NI43-101, Metallurgical Assessment and
the PEA must have this horizontal data to render a reliable report.
Anyone have any light they can shed on this matter?
